Things are going pretty good for our family..Still praying for meetings for my husband and I am so Thankful for the ones that he has had..God has really BLESSED us and has taken good care of us. Kids are done with school and the first year of homeschool was so much fun and I am excited about next year. We are not doing the same material as last year, we are going with ACE this year. JJ is finally out of his cast and into a brace and there is still a long process with him. He has a full body MRI on the 12th of this month at the Mayo Clinic and when that is done I will update.

I know I have not been blogging much and I am sorry about that but alot has been going on..I am Praise the Lord that the doors are opening and we are getting some more meeting and we have 2 in Ms and please pray for travel and that the meetings will go well. Homeschool ing going very well and I am glad that I am doing it and the kids are doing well also.
JJ is doing pretty good and his leg is healing well but he is not out of the woods yet and we go back on the 8th of May and I will update then.

Prayers for JJ

As some of you know we have been traveling up to Mayo Clinic for treatment for JJ..He had a surgry back in June of last year here in Wis. and the doctor that did it performed the surgry wrong and his leg never healed and his bone just desolved and we were recommended to give Mayo Clinic a call and we did and got an Apt and he had his first on in Jan of this year and sure enough they had to do another surgry to prayer the damage that had been done. He had the surgry on the 20th of Jan and he had his 6wks post op on the 5th of March and his Ortho Doc was please how it looked and heealing. She said we are not out of the woods yet and we have to go back on the 2nd of April. He also had and MRI and they detected a UBO ( unidentified Bright Object on the (R) side of his brain and we will talk to his Nero doc on the 2nd on what they will do. But they have put him on seizure meds. Please continue to be praying for him because of the stress of wanting to be a normal kid is getting to him and it is affecting him around here and at school. Please continue to be praying for Jason and I and Aubrey and Michael.

We have been coming up to the Mayo Clinic since sometime in Jan. Well JJ had to have another surgry to fix and repair his (R) leg from the surgry he had back in June. They had to do alot of work on it and we have been up in Mn since the 20th and we are hoping he will be released either on Fri or Sat. Please keep him in your prayers because he is in alot of pain and he has an allergic reaction to the med's he was given and he is very itchy. Please keep Jason and I as we stay with him and that we can get some sleep and stay calm and relaxed for him. Thank you all..

His fist apt was at 8:15 and that was with the Orthopedic doc and they are going to have to do another surgry on his leg. They have to repair the damage that the other Orth. Doc did.From the surgry that Childrens did we were told that his bone just kind of dissolved around that steele plate that they put in and they will have to take that out clean it out and take a bone from his hip again and try to put another rod in and that is what they shoud have done the 1st time.His surgry is the 20th and he will be released from the hospital on the 24th. Then he had an eye apt and they did fine a very little turmor on his right eye and they are keeping an eye on that. Then it was the Nerologist and they did detect seizure activity and they are doing and EEG and then a sleep study on his and that will be done on the 19th. He also have to have an MRI done. His recovery time will be about 6mon. Please continue to be praying for him and for us..

We sure have had a busy last few months..We started school last month and I am a first time home schooler mom and it is going very well..I am doing Alpha Omega and when I was looking into it..It seemed pretty good but I am finding the kids struggling a bit and I am just hoping it is trying to get used to the curicculum..I have been talking to my mother and I am think about switching to ACE.. We were in Pastor Cole's Church in Iowa on the 5th and it was such a wonderful meeting..We are going to be back in Iowa for another meeting at a different church and I am sorry the name fails me but when I ask my Dh I will repost and put it in..
JJ might be having another surgry and we will know for sure on his next Apt..They are talking about infuzing his ankle bone and the tibula and fibula bone together all the way the knee to make it stronger..Please be in prayer for that and also our van is ready to give up..Thank you all for your prayers..

We started back to school on the 8th and for being a 1st time homeschooling mom it was a hard 1st week and I was about to give up but I think it is getting better..We are using Alpha Omega and it seems to be pretty good..I am working with another mother that is in my church and she is really helping me..We have a great classroom and I will be taking some pictures this afternoon.
Our meeting have been really slow and please keep us in your prayers..We have lost 2 meeting so far and that really hurt us financially..But God has really provided for us.We have a meeting this Sunday in Mi. and also please pray for our van sure has been acting up.
JJ has a doctor apt. tomorrow and praying things will be looking up for him.He still is non weight baring but he has not obeyed that..LOL but he is a hard boy to keep still..
Well I have been thinking of all my blogger buddies and you all have been in my heart..I pray all is well with you..

He has to wear a boot but he is still none weight barring..He goes back in 3wks and if it is not what they wanted it to look like they might have to go in and infuse the 2 bones together..His last visit is wasn't healing like they wanted and and as of his apt. on Tues. it still looked the same,,,He has been in a cast since March and his poor leg we had to scrub to look good..

I thought I would post a little update on us..We were at the Foudation Confrenece in Beach Park, Ill and that was a wonderful conference..My Dh was able to preach and he did fantastic.. We lost a week long meeting at a family camp..Please pray that we can replace that and God will provide for our needs..We are in need of a Van so bad because ours is ready to give up, please be in pray for that..
Aubrey is with my parents and having a wonderful time and will be heading out to California the 25th of Aug. I will be testing the boys in the Alpha Omaga progam next week and I am praying that they will do well..Aubrey will get tested at my parents house and then I will be ordering the material.. JJ has another Apt. the 13th and we will see how his leg is doing and I will let you all know..

Well he had another doctors apt. yesterday and in away it was not to promising..He had surgry on the 16th of June and they had put a metal plate in hs leg to hold the bone together and they did some graphting..Well they looked at the X-ray yesterday and his doc. said it seemed like ti is not holding together..They out him in another cast for the next 2wks to see how things go..Please continue to be praying for him and for us..His apt. is Aug. 13th and they will do another x-ray.
Aubrey is with her mamaw and papa for a few weeks and they are off to Cali. I am glad she is going. She had not seen the family there and they have not seen her but only in pictures..I wish I was going with them I have not been back home since 97. I am sure they will be taking lots of pictures.. Well I need to run for know but will be posting more later..

My mother had her 6mon. cancer check today and she was told that she was cancer free..I am so happy..She is having joint problems and they told her that the chemo. damages her joints and they gave her some med's and said that it will get better in time..I am just happy about being cancer free..

He had his surgry on monday the 16th and he went thru it very well..They had to shave the bone that was broken and then do some graphting and put screws on each side..He was in alot of pain and I think we got it under control.He spent just 1 night in the hospital and he came home Tues. He is doing pretty good..He has another apt. on the 23rd to see how he is doing.Please continue to be praying..Thank you all

Another Surgry for JJ

It is scheduled to be in 2wks. And this is the bone that the little girl broke at school..They will be doing a bone graph and then put screws on each side of his bone. And this is the Fibula and it is a 2 1/2 hr surgry and he will be in the hospital for 3 days.. Please be in prayer for him and Us..I will keep you all posted on how the surgry went and how he is doing..

Well his surgry date is June 23rd at 7:30 in the morning.And we have to be there at 6:30 am..Please keep us in your prayers..

I am sorry it has been awhile in not posting..I have been home schooling JJ since the 26th of March and that has kept me pretty busy and then going back and forth to Milwaukee to doctors apt. Today he had another one and they put him in a walking boot and then after they see how he does in that they will talk about doing his surgry. I got to spend Mothers Day with my mom and that was SSSSSOOOO wonderful. Then we went to Green Bay for a meeting and that went well.
Jason had a wonderful thing happen to him..He got to win my neice to the Lord and that was so wonderful.. I bet most of you have heard " Boys will be Boys" well Michael is one of them. On Sunday after church he did a George of the Jungle thing and cut his fore head open..He is doing pretty good and he is doing no more tree's..

We went to the doctors today about his leg when it was kicked and they had put a cast on it March 26th and then ordered a Bone stimulator on it and he has had that on since the 27th. Well as of today they is no improvement and they will have to to surgry which will intail bone graphing and then putting in another rod. The friday the 14th at school he was kicked in the leg that has the rod in..And the fibula was broke right in half..We found out that the bone density is very week in the Fibula and Tibula and they put a cast on his leg and they are going to do Electric shock theropy to strengthen his bones and it will be done for a month and if that doesn't work then they are going to do some type of surgry and also do surgry on his ankle..Since Jason has been out of the Military we are on a different type of tricare and we are having to pay some part of the bill and finacially we are tapped out..Please pray for us and Jason(JJ)
Also I posted some pictures of when my kids did there mission boards for Masters Club..Well JJ won 3rd place for his and Aubrey won 4th for hers and Michael didn't place but he placed in my book..They all did a wonderful job..

A very BIG Blessing came our way~

We have been praying for some meetiings and the Lord has blessed us with a few..But our finances have really been upside down..I have been subbing at my ids school to help with the school bill and it sure has been fun being with the kids..We went out last night to get a few things for the kids lunches for today and as we were getting them put away our pastor called and said there was a few things for us in the coat room and when we got down there, There was about 7 bags of food and I just feel to my knees and Thanked the Lord..

Root Beer Float Cake

1 box yellow cake mix with pudding in the mix (18.25oz)
1 box vanilla instant pudding (5.1 oz)
1 1/4 cups root beer
1/2 cup vegetable oil
4 large eggs
Root Beer Glaze (recipe follows)

Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour a 10" flutedcake pan. In a large bowl, combine cake mix, puddingmix, root beer, oil, and eggs. Beat at medium speedwith an electric mixer until smooth. spoon batter intoprepared pan and bake for 45 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes. Remove from pan and let cool completely on a wire rack. Spoon glaze over cooled cake.

Root Beer Glaze:
2 cups powdered sugar
3 T. root beer

In a small bowl, combine sugar and root beer,whisking until smooth.You may substitute orange soda for a creamy variation reminiscent of a creamsicle. to make a sunny citruscake, try substituting lemon cake mix and lemon lime soda. For a decadent strawberry version, substitute white chocolate pudding and strawberry soda.

Taco Soup

I made this last night and it was so good..My family loves it

2 lbs of hamburger meat (or meat of your choice)
taco seasoning (1or 2 packs)
1 can of diced tomatoes
2 cans of corn
2 cans of pinto beans
2 cans of kidney beans
1 pack of dry hidden valley ranch dressing mix

brown ground beef with or without the taco seasoning. drain grease. then add all ingredients (adding water if needed....if you like more broth) and bring to a boil. pretty much once it's hot you're good to go. served with shredded cheese, sour cream and tortilla chips. YUMMY

Rice Lasagna

1 pound lean ground beef or bulk pork sausage
1 medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
1/4 cup chopped green sweet pepper
1 28- to 32-ounce jar spaghetti sauce
2 slightly beaten eggs
2 cups low-fat cream-style cottage cheese (about 16 ounces)
1 8-ounce package shredded mozzarella cheese (2 cups)
4 cups hot cooked rice
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1. In large skillet, cook ground beef, onion, and green pepper until meat is brown. Drain off fat. Stir in spaghetti sauce; heat through.
2. Meanwhile, in medium bowl, stir together the eggs, cottage cheese, and mozzarella cheese; set aside.
3. In 3-quart rectangular baking dish, layer half of the meat-sauce mixture, half of the cooked rice, and half of the cottage cheese mixture. Repeat layers. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake, uncovered, in a 350 degree F oven about 50 minutes or until top is golden. Let stand 10 minutes before serving. Makes 8 servings.

Busy the last 2 days

Yesterday I tore threw my kids rooms..I started at 9am and didn't get done until noon..I was so tried of telling them to clean there rooms and I told them when they left for school they will come home to something different and boy did they ever..They came home and went into there rooms and said mom where is all my toys and things..I took everything out of there except there beds and dressers..I told them when they can keep there rooms clean they can earn some of there things back..Then I went thru the game room and did the same thing..They are unable to play the Wii or there play station2 until I can see a difference in them..

Today we had an eye apt for Michael and he has to get glasses he is near sighted..he got to pick out his own glasses and he should get them next week and I will take a picture of him and you all can see him..I think he looks really cute.. Started to snow and it is still coming down and my daughter is hoping there will be no school in the morning.. The boys on the other hand wants to go to school because they have there first basketball game and Proud Moma will be taking lots of pictures..

I am doing very well with my weight..I can feel my clothes getting looser and I can really see it in my face..I have been doing my gazelle and WATP's DvD and I am feeling alot better..

Getting Back on track

I did 3 miles today and I almost gave up but I didn't..I did my WATP DvD and it felt really good..My Dh is helping me with a work out plan s o I get get it done..Yesterday I weighed in and I only lost 1lb and it was a little discouraging but I gave it to the Lord.. I have also been doing my gazelle along with the Dvd's..

Kids started back to school today and it is a odd day to start back and they really didn't want to get up..LOL
I have been getting back on track with my work out again and I am hoping to at least loose about 30lbs..So pray for me..

Our vans heater went out and we need to get it fixed and pray that we can find a place that is not to expensive and also it wont be that expensive to fix..We sure need one with the weather we are having..

This week has been a busy one for me..I have been baking 2 different kinds of cookies and I am kind of proud of myself these cookies are my grandmothers recipe and I have not done these is a very long time..

Kids Christmas parties are today and they will come home with lots of sweats and they are excited about it being the last day of school until Jan.. We will be leaving for my mothers on Sunday and we will come back on Wed..

I will be finishing up my shopping today and tomorrow and boy is is getting harder for me..It was so much easier when the kids were littler and since they are older I am having a hard time finding things for them..
Well I am off to hit the crazy stores and deal with cranky people.LOL

Let see where to begin..In Oct we found out that my mother was diagnosed with Breast cancer and then at the end of Oct we found out we were going to have a baby..In Sept we lost the baby and my church sure has been a blessing to us thru this.. Jason has been going thru some difficult testing with his liver..With all the medication he has been on for his leg and it damaged it and they are trying to flush it out and if that doesn't work they will have to do a liver transplant..So please pray for him and us as a family.. Please continue to be praying for us as we get meeting..
The kids have been doing real well and we are praying to home school next year so we can go to meetings with Jason and if the Lord opens doors for us we will be ordering the paces come income tax time..

Well it is getting late and I really need to get to bed..I will post more soon..

Candy Carrots

1 pound Baby Carrots
1/4 cup Butter or Margarine
1/4 cup Brown Sugar -- packed
1 teaspoon Lemon Juice
1/8 teaspoon Hot Pepper Sauce
1/8 teaspoon salt

In a large saucepan, cook carrots in a small amount of water until crisp-tender. Drain and set aside, with cover on to retain heat. In another saucepan, cook butter and brown sugar until bubbly. Stir in lemon juice, hot pepper sauce and salt. Add carrots to mixture and heat through. Serve hot as a side dish.

Caramel Cheesecake Bars

24 Sandwich Cookies,divided
2 tablespoons butter, melted
25 Caramels (1/2 of 14-oz. bag)
1 tablespoon water
2 pkg. (8 oz. each) Cream Cheese, softened
1 jar (7 oz.) Marshmallow Creme
1 egg

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place 14 of the cookies in food processor container; cover. Process untilfinely crushed. Mix with butter; press firmly onto
bottom of 9-inch square baking pan. Bake 10 minutes or until golden brown. Cool 10 minutes.

Place caramels and water in microwaveable bowl.Microwave on high 1 minute or until caramels are completely melted, stirring every 30 seconds. Setaside. Coarsely chop remaining 10 cookies.

Beat cream cheese and marshmallow creme in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Add egg; mix well. Stir in chopped cookies;pour over crust. Drop spoonfuls of the caramel mixtureover batter; swirl gently with knife for marble effect.Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until center is set. Cool completely.
Refrigerate 4 hours or overnight. Cut into 20 bars.Store in tightly covered container in refrigerator.

Pumpkin Gooey Cake

This was very good..I made it over Thanksgiving..Yummy

Cake:
1 (18 1/4-ounce) package yellow cake mix
1 egg
8 tablespoons butter, melted

Filling:
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 (15-ounce) can pumpkin
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
8 tablespoons butter, melted
1 (16-ounce) box powdered sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon 1 teaspoon nutmeg

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Combine the cake mix, egg, and butter and mix well with an electric mixer. Pat the mixture into the bottom of a lightly greased 13 by 9-inch baking pan.

To make the filling: In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese and pumpkin until smooth. Add the eggs, vanilla, and butter, and beat together. Next, add the powdered sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and mix well. Spread pumpkin mixture over cake batter and bake for 40 to 50 minutes. Make sure not to overbake as the center should be a little gooey.

Serve with fresh whipped cream.

Variations: For a Pineapple Gooey Cake: Instead of the pumpkin, add a drained 20-ounce can of crushed pineapple to the cream cheese filling. Proceed as directed above.

For a Banana Gooey Cake: Prepare cream cheese filling as directed, beating in 2 ripe bananas instead of the pumpkin. Proceed as directed above.

For a Peanut Butter Gooey Cake: Use a chocolate cake mix. Add 1 cup creamy peanut butter to the cream cheese filling instead of the pumpkin. Proceed as directed above.

Peacan Glazed Pumpkin Pie

A nutty twist can do a lot to spice up traditional pumpkin pie.

Ingredients:
2 large eggs
1 (16-oz.) can solid pack pumpkin
1 (12-oz.) can evaporated milk
1 C. brown sugar, packed; divided
2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
1 deep dish pie crust, frozen
1-C. pecans, chopped
1/4-C. butter, melted

Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 F. In large bowl, using a wire whisk, whisk together eggs, pumpkin, evaporated milk, 3/4 C. brown sugar and pumpkin pie spice. Place frozen pie crust on preheated baking sheet. Pour filling into crust. Bake 40 minutes.
In small bowl, combine remaining 1/4 C. sugar, pecans and melted butter. Crumble over top of partially baked pie. Bake an additional 30 minutes, or until tested done. Serves 8.

Pumpkin Cobbler

1 (29 oz) can pumpkin
4 large eggs, beaten
½ teaspoon cloves
1 yellow cake mix
1 (13oz) can evaporated milk
2 Tablespoons brown sugar
½ cup chopped nuts
1 teaspoon salt
1 ½ cups sugar
1 teaspoon ginger
2 Tablespoons cinnamon
1 cup melted butter

Blend pumpkin, eggs, sugar, salt, cloves, cinnamon, ginger and milk. Pour into greased 13x9x2” pan. Sprinkle cake mix over the top. Pour melted butter over cake mix. Sprinkle brown sugar and nuts over top. Bake @ 350 degrees for 1 hour and 20 minutes

What is new with us

I thought I would update you all on what is going on with the Hills...We are doing really well still praying in for some meeting..We do have some lined up for Nov. and Dec. so hopefully after the 1st of the year we would be getting some more.. We are putting together a Web page and I have a sample of it and I will let you all see the pade..It will be finished by next Wed.

Kids are doing really well in school..Went to the first teacher conference and there grades are wonderful and JJ is doing alot better and I am so glad..

My mother will have her 1st chemo treatment next week and she is really scared so could you all please pray for her.

UPDATE on computer~

We were able to take the computer to Best Buy and they were able to retrive his messages and we put them on a back up disc and he will be using mine until we can get him another monitor..I would like to Thank you for all your prayers.. Please continue to be praying for my mother she will start her Chemo on Thurs of next week..They were able to get out all the cancer..Praise the Lord..

Update on use..We are doing very well and we sent out lots of letters and we are waiting on a response and please prayer we get some open doors..

My hubby has been under alot of stress lately and to add to it his computer crashed last night..He has been working on putting sermons together and we are hoping all is not lost..We are taking it to the Geek Squad at best buy to see if they can recover them..And no it is not my NEW one..Please pray that they will..

Some of you may know that my Dh and Ds have the same disease that causes tumors to develope all over there bodies..Well on friday we found out that Dh has on wrapped around his main nerve in his eye and it will cause him to become blind..Please pray that this will not happen..We have been crying together and praying..

She got back all her test and they got all the cancer..Praise the Lord..But she will still have to take Chemo just to be on the safe side..But I just wanted to let you all know and please continue to pray for her and my dad..

I had a surprise waiting for me when i got back from picking up the kids from school yesterday.Jason bought me a new computer..It is a Hp TouchSmart Pc..And I love it.. I will post a picture later..

Our words determine the direction of our lives. The Bible tells us that life and death are in the power of the tongue. There’s no neutral ground. We are either sowing seeds of life and productivity with our words, or we are sowing seeds of ruin and destruction with our words. Today is a good day to take inventory of your words and make the decision to sow only good seeds with your words. Sow seeds of life by speaking God’s Word over your own life and the lives of those around you. Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you to consider every word before you say it. Make the decision today that your words will bring glory to Lord. As you guard your mouth, you will “keep” your life. You’ll see increase in every area and enjoy the blessing the Lord has in store for you.
